Spatial analysis is where the power of GIS truly shines. By combining data from independent sources, and using that information to evaluate complex, location-based issues, maps can be used to find patterns, assess trends and make important decisions.

In this class designed for GIS professionals seeking to take their skills to the next level, you will learn how to leverage various information sources to populate, analyze and present data visually. Through lecture and hands-on exercises, you will explore how to use ArcGIS Pro to establish topography rules to streamline and create accurate data for assessing a variety of geographically based issues, from environmental justice to public health. Course topics will include derivatives of Digital Elevation Models, with various methods for display and analysis, as well as 2D and 3D representation. You will also use Model Builder and Python to build tools to automate repeated tasks, enable others to make changes in the workflow, or evaluate the results. Upon successful completion of this course, you will possess stronger spatial analysis and data visualization skills that can be immediately applied in your GIS work.
