Birth

The anticipatory excitement was almost overwhelming as I stood amidst the bustling crowd of people waiting to meet family and friends at the international arrivals at San Francisco International Airport. I eagerly studied every person who came through those double doors, as they opened at regular intervals to let a few people through. I was huge!

Warren and I were shocked when I went into labor six weeks early. Leonie was 18 months old, and we had very little in the way of a support system, just two recent friends who had their own little children.  And, to complicate matters we were not in our own home.
